We are calling on our global community to support the grassroots leaders on the front lines of responding to the twin epidemics of COVID-19 and violence.  Your support will help families rebuild in the months ahead and help our community develop the collective capacity we’ll need to address the structural inequities the pandemic has so clearly exposed.

Your support of the Mutual Aid Collaborative will expand the capacity of our Fellows to provide emergency relief to their neighbors and build collective capacity for the long term.

In Chicago, the 38 community leaders of the Collaborative all live and work in the 21 south and west side community areas most impacted by violence, which are too often the same neighborhoods that are disproportionately affected by COVID-19. By activating their networks, they are already managing donations, coordinating with local partners, and leveraging their skills to meet the urgent needs of their neighbors.

The Global Fellows are leading community-driven responses to COVID-19 across 16 countries in Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East and North and South America. Too often, the health and economic burdens of the coronavirus exacerbate existing tensions and push already fragile communities towards acute crisis. The global network is sharing information, strategies and resources to provide the food and other resources their neighbors need to survive.
